Late last month, the downtown advocacy group Centro San Antonio made the stretch alley home to its summer pop-up event series, a weekly array of free events designed to promote community artists and businesses. The series runs through Aug. 1. Before the series, the alley was a simple industrial thoroughfare for commercial unloading and cigarette breaks, or for brave tourists seeking a shortcut through the block.
