Though San Antonio’s downtown was in stasis during the early days of the pandemic, the place-making elves at Centro San Antonio were hard at work beautifying the area through an “Art Everywhere” initiative.

To cap off a year’s worth of new murals and installations, Centro will unveil its latest collaboration with artist Rudy Herrera with a day’s worth of activities starting this morning and ending with a lunchtime pop-up from 11:30 a.m to 2:30 p.m. featuring cold Topo Chico, music by DJ Despeinada, and food for purchase from the Spurs food truck.

Herrera’s piece, “The Last Parade,” is emblazoned on the east wall of the historic Kress Building on Houston St. It joins Lionel Sosa’s “Living in my Skin” in the adjacent parking lot for the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, and Ghost’s “Wish you Were Here” on Back Unturned Brewing.
