As tour guides of the Professional Tour Guide Association of San Antonio, we showcase our beautiful, historic downtown, which includes Texas’ No. 1 tourist sites — the Alamo and River Walk. When visitors from all over the world remark how clean our city is, we point out the friendly ambassadors from the nonprofit Centro San Antonio, positioned throughout the inner city in their bright yellow shirts or navy blue jackets if it’s chilly out.

They assist San Antonio’s visitors in many helpful ways: giving out maps, providing directions, addressing incidents or calling for assistance. They also work constantly to keep the main downtown area clean.

They are true San Antonio ambassadors. If you encounter these dedicated Centro San Antonio employees, be sure to say “thanks” for the value they add to San Antonio, benefiting all of us.

Their efforts must not go unnoticed.
