A local artist is sharing his talent with the Alamo City for the first time. Joseph Ramey, 25, never would have imagined his first mural in San Antonio to have the coincidence it has.
“Art serves the purpose of beautifying our lives (and) allowing us to live in luxury,” said Ramey.
The colors and shapes are a form of expression for Ramey. He started painting murals one year ago. His work is featured in Houston, and the 25-year-old artist was recently selected by the Centro San Antonio Art Everywhere organization to paint on Dallas St. It took him one month to finish the mural.
“It’s so hard to put into words how amazing this opportunity has been.”
The location of his first mural in San Antonio is a special place for Ramey. Right across the street is the Baptist Medical Center. His mother, Sharon, used to work at the hospital when she was pregnant with him. At the time, she was getting her certification as a nursing assistant.
