San Antonians can hit the ice regardless of the temperature outside this season thanks to the Rotary Ice Rink, which returns to Travis Park Nov. 18-Jan. 16.
“The rink does more than allow for joyous seasonal experiences,” says Rotary Club president Brandon Logan. “Revenues from rink tickets and other sales go toward hyper-local programs that both help at-risk youth pursue their education and build playgrounds and other recreational spaces.”
Skating is available daily during reserved time slots for $14, which includes skate rental. On Mondays, military personnel and their families can receive $4 off admission. Tuesday is known as “cheap skate night” when individuals can skate for half-price.
Centro San Antonio also will add some extra fun to Travis Park throughout the week. On Tuesdays, join them for holiday movies. Wednesdays are for live jazz and on Thursdays it will release snow flurries over the rink. On Fridays, food trucks are on-site and on Saturdays, families can enjoy story time with Santa.
The rink debuted in 2019, took a break in 2020 due to COVID-19 and returned in 2021. In those two years, it has seen 200,000 visitors.
